I love coffee. The stronger the better. One of my favorite things is finding a coffee house that makes strong, delicious coffee and has a wide assortment of pastries without making you break the bank. My two favorite places are El Barrista in East Harlem and 787 Coffee in the lower East Side.
El Barrista has a large variety of coffee selections as well as pastries and drinks. There is a French bistro vibe to it that I love. On any given day you walk in and people are quietly sipping coffee and either on their laptops, having a meeting or just enjoying each others company. The music is soft and the lights are dim. Perfect setting for a nice break from reality.
Although 787 Coffee doesn’t have the variety of pastries as El Barrista, their Coquito Iced Coffee makes up for it. It is divine and this is coming from a person who does not really like iced coffee. They have several locations throughout the city and they all make excellent coffee drinks so if you see one stop on by. You’ll thank me later.
